JANUS

Janus is a Roman god depicted with two faces on his head, one looking at those entering the city and the other at those leaving, like a guardian protecting the city. All beginnings and endings, all transitions, changes and transformations; what has happened and what will happen are under his watchful eye. With his control over time, Janus is depicted as a man, one side young and the other old, symbolizing both the past and the future. 

According to an old legend, in Ancient Greece, two friends clinked their glasses at their last supper together, shattering them. To feel their connection forever, they decided to carry a piece of the broken glass on their hearts. They called these small pieces 'symbols,' and this name eventually evolved into 'symbol.' Symbols, which transform hidden meanings into a single visual element, carry stories from the visible to the invisible. Winter ends, spring arrives. Days pass, years change. Time flows. Life ends and begins anew; what is born grows. The harmony of human nature with the universe is an uninterrupted cycle. What is to come is uncertain—and it is this uncertainty that humans always lament. In the uncertainty carried by time, the gates guarded by Janus always open to paradise.
